you know taj, helmets are a weird thing. I have always been a big supporter of wearing them, but even I can think back of many times I was riding in a situ I should have had one on and didn’t. for me it has always been that I sweat a lot and the helmet makes you feel so nasty. so on hot days in paces I had rode alot, I would “risk it” but seeing two people that are leaps and boumds better then me get so f-up, I will now try even harder to wear it every time I ride. im 27 now and I have learned alot in my life. but mostly I have learned its worth protecting. life that is.

Im putting “wear it for mikey” on my brain bucket as a reminder to fellow riders.

It seemed like, with Stephen Murray’s accident, that it was too far removed from the average rider to make a huge impact on the way that we ride. Not too many of us would be attempting double flips in full gear. But, with Aitken’s accident, it definitely became more personal. If the most dialed rider ever can go down on a seemingly simple trick that he’d done a thousand times and get that severely injured, then it could happen to any of us.

I’m hoping that this helps to encourage people to ride safe, but that remains to be seen.
